AI infrastructure strengthens the economy and improves communities.

• Data center careers offer a path for young skilled workers to stay in their hometown and strengthen their local communities. In Wyoming, 70% of young adults leave the state by age 30, but with data centers offering new career opportunities, many early professionals are opting to stay and build up their local economies. 
• In Beacon County, Alabama, a proposed $6 billion data center would bring up to 1,000 construction jobs, followed by hundreds of permanent, high-paying positions averaging $115,000 per year.
• The Monarch data center project will create hundreds of permanent careers in Mason County, West Virginia. Through partnering with local schools, Monarch is creating pathways through apprenticeships, certificate programs, and local universities, to build a successful workforce.

AI is creating new opportunities for the modern worker.

• In a study conducted by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, there may be “as many as 1.9 million” vacant jobs by 2033 if the manufacturing shortage continues. According to Jeff Bezos, AI will “create a labor shortage.” America’s leadership in AI depends on the people building the infrastructure behind it.
• Meta’s America Workforce Academy is creating pathways into skilled trade careers by offering free training, certifications, and guaranteed jobs through partnerships with national workforce organizations and community groups to meet the growing demand for AI infrastructure.
• Google is investing $50 million to prepare 300,000 skilled workers across more than 20 states, expanding apprenticeships and training programs for essential trades that power AI infrastructure through the electrical training ALLIANCE (etA) .
• Google has launched several learning initiatives to prepare and educate candidates on the future of AI. Google has partnered with aiEDU, ISTE, and Renaissance Philanthropy to help teachers build AI literacy and develop AI readiness strategies so they can prepare students for an AI-powered future. Arkansas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Virginia have also partnered with Google to launch free AI education programs, helping residents build and strengthen their knowledge to succeed in the AI workforce in their states. 
• Business leaders are investing in workers, not just AI technology. Anthropic, OpenAI, Amazon, Microsoft and Bank of America are investing in RAISE US, a non profit organization aimed at supporting workers with the AI skills needed to advance in their careers.
