WASHINGTON — Digital Realty gave Fox Business a look inside a data center, showing the public how the facility operates while responding to myths about data centers’ water use and impact on electricity costs.
Digital Realty’s Senior Solutions Architect, Okechukwu Keke, shared on Fox Business that “50% of the water [its data centers] use is reclaimed or non-potable water,” and across their roughly 300 data centers worldwide, they use the same amount of water as 18 golf courses.
Digital Realty reinforced its focus on protecting local ratepayers through their commitment to President Trump’s Ratepayer Protection Pledge, investment in local infrastructure upgrades, and using its own generators during extreme weather to put capacity back onto the grid.

“People will see the benefits of AI, and they’ll see the benefits of the data center buildout in their lives, and we think it will make people’s lives better,” says Kevin Gunderson, Head of Public Affairs.
Fox Business also highlighted the increase in job opportunities that data centers bring for construction workers, electricians, and other skilled trades.
